Default LCA sizing in relation to handling?

I am just beginning to appreciate the affect of handling on a fwd drive car and starve for knowledge of what makes the most difference in a cars handling capabilities. I am referring to my 89 Crx Si and the size of the rear LCA(lower control arms for those who wonder what the heck LCA's stands for). I was doing a tire rotation yesterday and noticed the pathetic sizing of the Si's rear LCA's in relation to most of the EG hatches and other Integras I have done work on and wonder what affect if any swapping to a larger diameter RLCA would do for handling or stability on my vehicle.
