Default how do you distinguish gsr tranny from an sir tranny?

here's the situation...

car A & B are said to be running the same tranny(GSR)
yet the rpm levels are not the same in each car at the same gear.
car A is obd1, B is obd2
car A revs alot lower in 5th. at 120km/h revs are about 3k.. where as B's rpms match the speed needle in 5th gear at 120km/h around 4k i think.
same chasis, same mods, same motor and supposed to have same tranny (gsr)
i'm thinking either B has an SIR tranny or A has an LS

what do you guys think?

this isnt a hypothetical question. i really need to know.

anyone with the above trannies care to say what rpm's they're at at those speeds?
cause this is really confusing my buddies and i.

any help will be much appreciated.

Serial # of the tranny? Mine ('95 GS-R) starts with S80

I get 31.8rpm per kph in 5th. Stock gearing & final drive. So at 120km/h I have 3820rpm.

if the wheels are different sizes that may increase or decrease the REV of the tranni.

already took into consideration the wheel size.
both are runnin 14's w/65 profile.

made a mistake with the rpm reading for B. @120km/h its more like 42-4500 rpm.
where's the serieal #'s on the tranny?

oh yah both cars are non vtec.
do vtec trannies make a diff for rpm readings on non-vtec motors? or should the rpms read the same as if they were mated to vtec motors?
i hope i'm making sense cause i'm starting to confuse myself here

one more mistake, but i dont think it should matter much. car A is running a highflow cat with ITR mid-pipe, and car B is running stock gsr cat with gsr mid-pipe. this shouldnt have an effect on the rpm readings but thought i'd mention it.

when i take i ride in both cars, i dont feel as much pull in car A as in car B. but obviously because of the rpm readings car A has much more top end then car B.

it's just weird since both cars are supposed to have the same trannies. just trying to determine who has which??
