Default Useless bracket under the steering column?

I took apart my column and found this metal bracket above the bottom half of the plastic column. My 94 GSR never had it so I removed it.

Are you sure that isn't there to protect your knee in the result of a crash? take a look at the metal edges underthere that your knee could hit if it broke through the plastic in an accident. I would rather have my knee bash a smooth metal surface.

True, but at an impact that great to bash your knees in, I wouldn't think it would matter. Smooth piece of metal or not, this thing is a hunk of shrapnel, what if it goes in at a not so smooth angle?

Yeah, could be, but it only takes 3 minutes and 3 screws to unscrew the piece off...

Three screws and it falls off, the top just pulls off. Not an anti-theft feature.

I'd put it back in too. When i got into an accident in my Ek, i ripped by jeans open and the knee from impact. I would want those sharp edges behind that peice piercing through the plastic.

..a moderator or administrator lowered his percentage because of irrelevant content (according to the signature if the first post.) So he created a second one to vent and such.

He ordered the catz system.

He is insane so he decided he rather eat 2 lbs of french fries and remove that metal peice to balance out the weight he gained.
