Eliminating Wheel Hop
I usually run on 20x8x14 slicks...but I decided to give it a shot on my Azenis tires. I got crazy wheel hop. For example...I shifted hard into second gear (clutch in...let go of throttle/ clutch out...full throttle). Car was shaking so hard that it popped outta 2nd gear into neutral. After that..for the 1-2 shift....I was feathering the throttle and/or attempting it with the clutch...but it's so damn inconsistent.
So what are some things to help combat my wheel hop?
-Motor Mounts?
-Z10 Bars?
-Screw street tires...just run slicks?
Setup is:
92 hatchback
B18C1 Motor
Intake/Header/Open Cutout
CM Stage 4 Clutch
Ground Controls (integ rates up front)/Koni Yellows
205/50/15 Falken Azenis
Thanks.

yeah, drop tire pressure to like 10psi on the azenis. i have the same problem. my mounts are just fine. also, shocks are the other main problem with wheel hop. but, try lowering the tire pressure and heating up the tires good.
Yeah, since I changed my clutch to the CM's stg 4 I've also been having some massive wheel hop even with my b16
I'm thinking it may have something to do with the stock shocks I'm dropped on
I just put in the ES mount inserts last week and should head to the track this upcoming week, I'll give some feedback on them.

Try the traction bars from Midnight Peformance in Sacramento, Ca...they make them for most cars and mount to the stockt tow hook locations...these are great...not to expensive either...btw the number is (916)852-6887
another thing to try is to do some rear suspension work. The more the rear suspension is pushing down on the front tires, the less wheel hop you will have. Wheel hop is in no way related to this though, it is a front end issue, this may help some though
get the PROTHANE mounts
I tried these mounts to combat my wheel hop problem....they did nothing
