Default Important: This is a tough decision... Vote now!

Important: This is a tough decision... Vote now!

Here is a little synopsis:

In about two to three years I will be done university, and will be looking into buying a 'used' Acura/Honda. My two choices would be either a 2000 Canadian model Honda Civic SiR (American Si), or a 2000 model Acura Integra Type R.

Now, I'm stumped as what would be a better car at that time, so you guys/girls can help me decide. Give me a little insight as to why you voted for which car, and the pros and cons of both vehicles - if you know a lot about them.

Thanks in advance for the help.

By the way...

Acura Integra would possibly resemble this, and it would be either Championship White or Phoenix Yellow:

Honda Civic would possibly resemble this, and it would be either Electron Blue Pearl or Milano Red.

I like the way the Civic SiR Coupes look over the Tegs, but that's my personal opinion.

Your asking what car you should buy in two or three years? Shouldnt you wait until you are ready to buy the car to start thinking about it? What if in two years your taste completely changes and you decide you want an SUV? I'm sorry, I just dont see the point of this ?.

integra beats the civic in every performance aspect, appearance is an opinion so IMO, nothing can beat a teg with a JDM front end.

It's better to do your homework before class. This is extended a bit, but whatever. If there is not a point for you - that's nice - for me there might be!

start saving your money now....then buy a CX hatch for cheap, then modify the nutz off of it.....it will be faster than they type-r or the si with the same mods because it's lighter..

if i had to choose between the two....it would be the type-r no contest.....ek coupes are not my favorite.....actually i don't like them at all

but its old, rattles, and isn't as classy. there is a reason why not everyone drives a 92 CX or a 89 mustang. with those cars you sacrafice luxary with speed and affordablility.

You cannot find a Civic below the year of '94 here in Canada without rust. And if you do, the owner wants a ridiculous amount of money for it. Don't mean to offend anyone, but, I believe that the motor a car originally comes with should stay in it!

but with money you can put a GSR leather interior with sound deadening, or a type- r interior......with the money saved by buying a cheaper car you can make it fast AND nice

or you could just buy a car that's nice and fast already....but that's no fun

Go with the ITR. I don't want to see another MR Si on the road. Maybe because that's what I own.

yeah it is definately no contest. itr blows away any stock civic. But, a hatch w/itr suspension/brakes, and whatever swap of your choice, will smoke the itr. Be about the same price. You could mod the itr, but that will be even more money. Plus I don't know where you live, but if I ever got one, I'd shave off the type r badges, and although i know it is functional at high speeds, and I really do like it, I'd ditch the wing. Attracts too much attention. my friend jay got his itr stolen. It was sitting in his driveway, w/his moms window right above the driveway. he had an alarm with shock sensors, starter kill, and a very secret fuel cut. The car was gone the next morning- no sounds, no broken glass
