I'm working on my friends 89 DX H/B. Few weeks ago it started runing shitty, and started throwing CELs (o2 and fuel injector). I had him reset the ECU, and the codes haven't come back, but it's still running like hell. It feels like it's running on 2 cylinders most of the time, but will snap out of it every now and then. Valves are tapping pretty loud, and the throttle plate seems loose and makes loud noises when you hit the gas, but neither of those would seem to make it run like it is right now.. Does anyone have any idea of what it might be? It mainly sputters a lot when you hit the gas, but it will still go. Checked vacuum lines and they good...

Clogged fuel filter ? Or bad injectors. Pull the plugs and see what they look like. About the valves tapping, adjust them and see if that fixes them.
