Dropped Cars
I wanna drop my car sooo bad. Mine is just stock and I think the first thing I need it to lower it. NOW...what is a good setup? what do u guys think? I only have about $200-$300 to spend though. Any suggestions? If u have a stock integra that is dropped please post pics...THANKS
Get some ground control coilovers if you just want that dropped look, they are made by Eibach, pretty decent setup, and they are usually around the $299 mark...then save to upgrade the rest of the suspension later...
Do it right the first time and buy a true coil setup. (i.e., Tein SS, Apex'i Worldsport or N1, Buddy Club Racing Spec, and Zeal S6 are all good coil systems. I think all of them are adjustable with the exception of Buddy Club)

Go with Ground Control's. For $299 it'll do what you need. But you will blow your shocks after a while using any lowering springs on them. You might as well put some on at the same time. I went with KYB AGX with GC's. It was less than $700 for the whole package and the ride (because of adjustability) can go from pretty comfortable to go-kart like.

Your ganna need a lot more then just 400... I spent 1500 on my coilovers:
yeah i was going to say, my car looked like when i installed my koni yellow shocks...it makes the rear sit lower and looks weird...thank goodness for height adjustable shocks. since you have coilovers, it wont' be a problem but you will most likely need to get an alignment for the rear.

ok well considering we know that he only has about 400 to spend and thats cleaning out the cracks of his sofas and his grandmas sofas he cant afford true coil setup. So with that in mind, id say to get the best bang for your buck, a nice spring and shock combo. like those neuspeeds springs look nice, and then do a nice shock AGX or tokico. nothing too crazy. There is no point in spending more money than you have to for what you need. If your goal is to have a slammed car with a fairly decent ride comfort than a simple shock spring setup will suit you fine. If your goal is to join the SCCA and bring home tropheys then save up.
done.
I think that a coilover isn't always necessary. I have coilovers and if I didn't go to shows they would never get adjusted. When I'm on the street or auto-x course they don't get touched. I would reccommend going with a good spring and shock combo. I like the H&R Race springs(I had them before my Ground-Controls). If you combine a good non-adjustable strut like the Tokico HP you could get out the door for under $400. Remember to factor in a little extra bread for an alignment.
Good Luck.
Good Luck.
Keep saving and get some H&R Cup kits. Shock and spring combo. No adjustability height wise but chances are youll find the right height and wont touch them again. 2" in the front and 1.75" in the rear is perfect.
nice, girl racers HEHE...save some more $, u wont regret doing this...the suspension of ur car is the most important thing. get something worth ur money..and its gonna cost around 1000 for everything or a lil more...things u have to consider if u want over a 2inch drop, coilovers, shocks, camber kit & alignment. gluck
