My exhaust has suddenly become loud and grumbly in the space of about a day. The noise is definatly comming from the front of the car. Is there a comon fault with maybe a gaskett or is it definatly a hole? I have checked under the car and can see exhaust emissions coming from the front under the engine. Doesnt appear to be any holes. Any clues on what to do and if so how much??

do you have an outake resonator? this helps dampen the vibration and sound. the resonator is located right after the cat.

 

Did you hit anything to cause the header/cat/piping to come loose or start leaking? Have you checked to see if it is leaking? Normally exhaust gaskets either leak or not but somtimes you can get a blowout or have a bolt shear causing a leak or even a hanger come off and cause a leak. Just look thats the only way to tell.
