I just bought a Integra GSR 99 model....I used 89 octane...no knocks
What's this I hear you have to use 91 or above or it'll kill your engine. If the engine is a high compression engine, that just means that some gas wont be combusted if it isnt 91 octane isnt it?
I am getting really lousy gas mileage too. I am going to change the oil, air filter, tires to Dunlop SP 8000. The wheels are loud, grips kinda lousy (with original miles, if you thought they were bad new, they are even worse at 40k). I got 23 mpg on the freeway on cruise control at below 80mph....with 91 octane, that's what a frigging Ford F-150 gets. Any ideas?
I dont have any money to buy a AEM CAI after paying insurance and the car (yeap paid in cash), heard some ppl made one themselves to improve air flow...how do you do it? Get some hose, attach it to the air intake, and stick a air filter on the end of the hose????
Oh yah, I tried changing the oil myself today but the damn lugnut is rounded....stupid dealer techs alwalys tighten that SOB to death...where can I get a new one and what dimensions?
TIA.

I am curious too... I have never used anything but 93.5 octane but I would not mind paying less for gas if there were no affects on the car.
