Default 1987 CRX swap

I have a 1987 CRX HF i got the car free so i want to do a low cost swap. I was thinking of an B18 LS motor but i cannot find any specifics on the first generation of crx's. Could someone please help me out and suggest the easiest most cost effective swap. I am building this car as a sleeper so simple and effective it is. I heard rumors that a B18 will "drop in" with no mounts. All help is appreciated.

The easiest swap for your carbed car is the carbed ZC. Next would be an '86 or '87 Integra swap which I did to my '84 CRX. Converting from carb to FI isn't hard, just time consuming. Any other engines other than the ones I mentioned above will require special engine mounts.

I am going to include a link which should help with anymore questions you might have.

I'm putting a D16A1 into my 87 CRX Si. See my web site for details:

The D16A1 is a good little engine. It is essentially a USDM ZC and can make impressive power both NA or FI once correctly tuned.

Great site first useful information I have found for the 1G CRX! Since you mentioned the D16 A1 motor my friend has one in his Integra I am sure he won't miss it...hmm. The carbed ZC motor is a nice upgrade but i am looking at a u-pull it place for cost reasons I am trying to work on my Focus pulling the head off of that and getting it ported and polished but i still think the light weight of the CRX should give it the edge. Having 2 cars is too much fun.
