how does everyone keep their ic;s soo nice?
Im asking becuase i already got some big bug or soemthing stuck in the fins and bent em pretty nice . assuming i hit it on the highway
but i took it out the fins with a real fine sharp knife and the thing whatever it was actually ripped the fins a little with the force it hit it with . its not huge or notivable too mch , but just waondering if anybody has any ideas on the longevity of my ic

damn dude you got like answers for everything . . yea post em then. it dont loko ricey does it ? cuz the only thing i could think was like them grills that people used to make from chicken wire to cover the front end with their body kits. but i think they look cheesy
Yeah that is what i do with all the intercoolers i have had. Just run screen door mesh, or even chicken wire around the intercooler and attach the mesh from the backside. You still get little bug and dirt, but nothing big hits the fins.
cool i might try that with the rest of the screen door i cut up the other day for my turbo inlet becuase i couldnt get a filter on it

I don't know about that.....you'll want to make sure it's the real stiff steel mesh for your turbo......that cloth type screen would probably rip and get sucked into the turbo
The stuff I used for the IC is galvanized, steel, chicken wire- like stuff from Lowes or Home Depot.

When i got my intercooler it was all fugged up. I sat there for 3 hours with a thin screw driver straightening out the fins. But then again it was a $1200 greddy ic, so it was well worth it.

Well, here is the best shot I could find. You get the idea. I can take a better one of the front. This is not hindering air flow.

I may have to try this chicken wire thing. I just got my turbo kit put on and I'd hate to be straightening fins on a regular basis.
