On-Board Diagnostic systems are electronic means to control engine functions and diagnose engine problems. primarily to meet emission standards.
in '96 OBD-II, took this step further and set standard on connector plugs and set of diagnostic test signals within manufacturers.
non-obd = 88-91 (and before this 84-7 E-AT Civic Si and Integra ZC FI)
OBDI = 92-5 cars
OBDII = 96-8 and 99-00 (01 integra)
OBD standarts set type of connectors, as well as sensors, programming and much more to be used
