Tire spray
I saw a guy at the track rubbing VHT onto his tires while in the staging lanes...
and he ran a WHOPPING 14.7... in a conquest...
seems like a waste if you ask me...
VHT is rather expensive...
but people do it, so give it a try if you feel like it.

For the record, rubbing VHT or any other treatment on your tires is not legal under NHRA rules.
There is a tire treatment that's been around for years, and it actually works. It's called Formual V. It's not an additive, and doesn't make tires "stickier". But it keeps the tire in like new condition.
As a tire wears, heat makes the outer surface of the tire dry. As the rubber gets drier, it gets harder, makes less traction, and wears out faster. This stuff reacts with the rubber, opens it back up, so to speak, and allows the natural oils and stuff from the rubber to come back to the surface. It was originally developed for karting and road racing, but many domestic drag teams use it to get triple and four times the usual number of runs out of a set of slicks. Used regulary, you can run the slicks right down to the wear indicators and they will hook like new all the time. Doesn't make them "better than new", just keeps them fresh. I've used it myself. Saved $$$ on buying so many new slicks. Still use it on my street cars and gives incredible tire life.
You coat the tire tread with a paint brush, (take the tires off the car or leave it on jacks) and keep applying coats until the tires stays "shiny wet" for 20 or 30 minutes. Leave them dry overnight, and you're good to go.
Here's a website that sells it, check it out. Just remember, it won't make a tire "better", just keep it like new. Saves $$$$.
