Default What are the pro Honda race tranny set-ups (H-SERIES SPECIFIC)

I know that Mr. Honda Steph Papadakis uses the Fortin tranny. But what do others like the HP Racing car use?
And does anyone know how long it takes to change a tranny at the dragstrip? Just wondering thanks!

The only reason steph is running a Fortin trans, is because his motor is mounted longitudinally. In his old hatchback, which had a tranverse mounted motor...he was using a stock trans.

Most racers will use a stock trans, only because of replaceability. Even those 10k Sequential trans are going to break...so why not use something thats cheap. Also, yu gotta look at the rulebooks. Most classes require an H-pattern.

We're using a stock JDM LSD H22 tranny.. and got a spare one as well.. I agreed about the cost effective replacement.

I talked to HP Racing at SEMA in Nov and they said they use stock ones.. They go through trannies every few passes and it takes the tech guy "12 mins" to rebuild a tranny... Hey. that's what he said.. So... BS or not... that's what he said. He said it's usually the 3rd gear that goes...

yeah most guys still use honda trannys, even accord trannys for the gear ratio, even the venom civic coupe still uses a "cable" b16 tranny (unless they upgraded).
we still use a b16 tranny with a spool on our turbo car.. a sticky track can be your worst enemy though.

I can believe 12 minutes to rebuild the trans...expecially if it's the same problem every time...

R and R would be another 20-30 mins tho prolly...

I could slam a third gear in 12 minutes. but I would rather spend a hour doing it right. Racing is racing, and that changes things like the qc.
