Default lsd

What would happen if you were to put transmission oil instead of differential oil for the lsd? How much damage would this cause? Would you have to replace the entire thing?

Thanks

I think there are different lubricants in trans oil than in engine oil,
and engine oil is probably much heavier/less likely to lube everything sufficiently.
Engine oil probably does not do a good job of lubricating what needs to be lubricated.

Why not just get trans oil?
