97 USDM Accord LX w/ 52k: OEM auto transmission 'bursts' on up/down shifts
Friend has the car described. Haven't driven it yet, but it 'bursts' in up-shifts and down-shifts. Kinda dangerous in low speed deceleration (unexpected jolt forward). This problem has been exhibited under all conditions cold/warm-city driving/highway. This problem has been exhibited since bought new w/ 0 miles.
I believe the problem is an overfilled tranny from the factory. I haven't had a chance (yet) to check the fluid level when its hot. At warm, it showed a slightly overfilled level however, I don't have a baseline to compare it to (not sure if level should read high or low when cold). Tranny fluid looks like it's in good condition - no burned smell noticed. Not sure if it's been changed in that 52k though. I'm recommeding a fluid flush.
Anyone have any other ideas about this? Any input on 97 auto trannies? Anyone seen overfilled trannies from Ohio? Thanks...

I'd be surprised it was and remained overfilled, because when the pressure goes up with temperatures, excessive oil will be vented out of the tranny, you will see a whole bunch of oil splattered everywhere in your right wheel well. I've seen this a number of times on my 95 EX
