Well the guy the I bought my B16A1 from no longer has the A1 in stock.....so he is sending me an A2 w/ hydro tranny, ecu, and shiftlinkages for no extra charge. He is even air shipping it to me so that I have it by friday. I am so damn excited, now I have the right OBD1 set up that matches my Civ and I get the hydro tranny insted of the cable......hows that for getting lucky.........I paid $850 for the A1 and now I get an A2 for the same price......Just thought Id share/brag......haha....

The B16A2 has the OBD1 setup like my 94 Civ Ex, right?

Its a place called Elite Kustom Auto, they are out of NC...... no website, I called him....

Is it a USDM B16A2 or a JDM Second Gen B16A?

If it is a true B16A2, then this is an OBD2 engine, but if it is the JDM Second Gen B16A, then you are straight.

Its the JDM 2G.....He just called and im going to have it by 12 tomarrow morning!!!!

Then the swap begins early friday morning.....I will post pics this weekend

I know it sounds sketchy but I have been working with this guy for over a month and he’s true to his word. The deal was that the company he got the engines from no longer had the A1s. This is what I had bought from him in the beginning:

B16A1
Ecu OBD-0
Cable tranny


B/c he couldn’t get that A1 engine like he said he upgraded my order to:

B16A2 (from a 99-00 Civ SI, I think?)
Hydro Tranny
Motor Mounts ( but I have already bought the full mount set from HASports)
OBD-1 ECU, Mugen Chipped
B-Sieries Shift linkages.


So all in all I made out like a bandit.....

The shipping company says they’ve got it and its on its way so its like 99% sure thing that I will get it today. They (overnite.com) have a 100% money back refund if you shipment does not arrive by 12am the next day.

I will let you guys know when it arrives....

Well it was far from a scam. This guy is awesome. Here’s what I got at 10am this morning:

-B16A2 (it’s stamped on the block, first thing I checked!)
-Shift Linkages and shift lever
-BOTH CV joints, and intermediate shaft
-A/c Compressor, and belts/ pulleys
-A/c Bracket
-All engine and tranny mounts
-OBD-1 ECU
-Upper and lower radiator hoses
-All the hardware from the engine bay

All in all, with shipping I paid 1100.00 for it...... I think that’s a really good deal!!
All of the parts look like they have never touched a car before. The engine looks amazing.

It goes in tomarrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, there is. It requires you to get naked and act like a chicken in your front yard. Do this until the cops show up and run. Your swap will then go smoothly.

 

LMAO.... Will do 1st thing in the moring!!!! My girlfriend, Lyss, is going to be my assictent with swap, so shes going to have to join me, she'll have no problem with it.... I got her into s big time, shes getting a Si HB soon!!

if its stamped b16a2 u got an obd2 swap. most likely u also got a 99-00 si wiring harness. u got some wiring ahead of ya. get an obd1 ex or gsr harness and get rid of the 99-00 si harness if thats what u got. jmo. good luck tho

the car he is putting it into is a 94 EX, so he already has the harness. What you will want to do is get an OBD-1 distributor. What I do, is get a 92-93 Acura GSR sub base assembly from Acura for about $100 and the cap and rotor for a 94-95 Acura GSR. Then put the ignitor chip from your stock distributor into that new distributor. Then put the ignitor coil from the B16A2 distributor into the new distributor. Then put the rotor and cap on it and its good to go. Reason is, the plug on the B16A2 distributor will not plug into your wire harness.

Make sure you have your intermediate shaft with the male output on it on the driver's side and the two outer shafts. I have seen people get the wrong drive shafts before.

 

The engine is about ready to come out, I had to call it a night...... That sucks, I did not know I needed to swap that obdII stuff, LOL I have no car right now.....

This is going to be intersting........
