when thieves tried to steal my 98 gs-r, i had the best theft protection you can get- and they didnt get it! (my engine was in the garage )ha ha! damn thieves. they smashed my window, broke my steering lock, ripped apart my steering column, took apart the ignition, didnt work, so they undid my hoodpins, popped the hood, and saw the ground! but i dont think they wouldve gotten it anyways- ive got a few tricks up my sleeve. no ignition power, no fuel power, and no ecu power. that and a cheap alarm with flashing led and warning chirps

Your worst case scenaior is that they may kill the alram siren (burn out the fuses), break the steering lock. Put it in nuetral and push it to a flat bed. Then tow it away.

my car was stolen twice...first time...my car was on valet cause my remote battery died but my clutch was dead so they left it down the street. the second time my alarm was working but i think my hood sensor was connected so the alarm didnt go off.

layers of protection. no ecu, 2 relays - one to fuel, the other to igition, u can also rewire ur igition and starter to require a chip key in order to work. some cars come with this set up, my old 91 integ da came with it. alarm w/ back up battery (or relocate it) and hood lock. OR u can shave ur handles and get lexan glass. either way.

I got a 99 DX and the first time they jacked the stereo and subs. They left about $50.00 in change, a case of synthetic and a digital camera in it. One month later, the a$$holes tired again, but this time to steal the whole car! They couldn't get the ignition out and the ignition lock pin was jammed in bad. It took me 2 hours to get the ignition out and started to get it to the body shop. They keyed my whole car as well. Needless to say, the insurance co. did not cover the stereo, or my rental car even though I had rental insurance. If this ever happens to you MAKE SURE they replace the WHOLE LOCK SET. I ended up with two keys now for my car and it is a reminder evertime I get in my car that I got screwed!
