Default worth my effort or no?

91 crx si b16a swap currently using a 00 si exhaust manifold, stock cat, stock piping, and a smaller than stock muffler

i finally have some money to upgrade, anyways point of the post,
my buddy has a 96 spec jdm itr header its actually a 4-2-1 style header but it still has the 2 1/2 inch collector!

my question is, i can get his for 150 or i can shell out some bigger bucks for a dc jdm header. do you think there will be a big diffrence? between the 4-2-1 and the 4-1 if it still has the 2 1/2 inch collector, i planned on mating this with a teo cat, 2 1/2 inch piping and apexi universal n1 muffler.

as far as other mods, just an intake, unorthodox crank pulley and quite possibly a 50 shot of nitrous is in the works.

opinions

If you do not have alot to spend right now go with a cat-back. That's the best thing you could do.

um a catback cost more than the header, hiflow cat, custom piping and the muffler!

how is that cost effective. btw the piping would be mandrel bent i have a shop that hooks me up.

wether it's home made or not if you do not have alot to spend go with a cat-back. that will be the best bang for your buck. I didn't say to buy an aftermarket one. you were vague in your first post. If you got the cash to do the whole exhaust go for it. GO with the ITR header but you could probably find a used DC for the same price but you will have to look

yeah i have enough money for a mandrel bent custom aftermarket catback.

the header i might be able to get for free, i just want to know if its going to be comparable, its just like the header i have but each pipe is a little bigger and then the 2 1/2 inch collector, just think of a dc sports 4-2-1 header but alot bigger.

sigh,

this money is burning a whole in my pocket

yes, but who hasn't seen/heard horror stories about many things that work great? every now and then there are "lemons" that are just isolated happenings. 2 friends of mine both have ceramic headers and have had 'em for a couple years, yet they still work fine for them, with no cracks or anything else!
