GSR idles at 4,000 RPM!!!!
I just put a 98 GSR motor in with Skunk2 Intake manifold and I go to turn it on and it idles at 4K! I am running an LS header and cat which is producing an enormous about of exhaust leakage, but I doubt that can cause such a high idle. The only code I throw is 21, which is VTEC and that is because I didn't run the wires(I have an LS harness, in my used to be LS).
Any ideas or answers to this question?
Thanks in advance.

did you scrape all the old gasket off...because it needs to be sealed butt-tight or it will leak and cause it to rev super high (like mine) check TB gasket and intake manifold gasket or any holes that you may have fogotten to plug-up...
To check: get Carb cleaner start the car and spray carb clearner over gasket (either mani of tb)...if if gets sucked in the you have a leak..and youll know when its gets sucked in...itll bog and jump and all kinds of wierd stuff...
important: do not leave it on for more then a FEW SHORT SECONDS or your really hurt your UNLUBERCATED rings!

could it be my o2 sensor since I am getting a terrible exhaust leak from this LS header and the fact that I extended the wires on the o2 sensor to compensate for using the LS wire harness? I am going to check for leaks tomorrow around the TB and IM. It also seems to be loosing oil very quickly. The head is black now from oil or carbon because of my exhaust leak so I don't know if the rings are bad or not. Someone please help!!!!

No, I haven't had time. I am having my friend that works for Acura as a technician take a look at it. He is coming over on Saturday, so I will post on how it goes.
reset the computer in the car.
in case you dont know how...
disconnect the battery
leave it disconnected for about half an hour.
hook the battery back up
turn the car on
leave it running for about 5 minutes
youre set to go
that should lower the idle a lot.
good luck

no need to be cocky, i was just giving a general suggestion.

check your manifold for open leaks and make sure all your hoses are connected to the right places and aren't left open.
mine did the same b/c i left a plug open

All the plugs are plugged and hoses ran to where they need to be. I sprayed starter fluid around the manifold and T/B yesterday, but no luck with showing where the leak is. I will have to jack it up and spray underneath tday. Could my chipped P28 be the cause of this?
My chipped P28 (i got mine from iH8RICERZ ) made my car run BETTER!!

dude i had same prob, anyhow u have a vaccum leak most likely, that or either fast idle is screw or iacv . depending on year of tb u may have a fast idle thermo underneath it, if not then thats one hint gone. swap out the iacv w/ a friends and check. ok then try this..get some brake cleaner/carb cleaner..turn car on and let it "idle"...spray entire manifold /tb area w/ the stuff and itll pinpoint ur vaccum leak...this worked for me.
It is a 98 GSR motor with 95 LS T/B and IACV. Would any IACV work or does it have to be a GSR? The Skunk2 manifold has holes for both.
And why would I have to reset my ECU?

Problem solved. Sold the motor to someone else who wants to tear it apart. Sold the car and quit doing swaps. Got a 2001 ITR to compensate for the loss. Will post pics in ITR forum tonight.
Thanks guys for all you help.
