Default airbox removal question and linkage question

Ok, How do you remove the airbox resonator on a 90 civic hatch si? I can reach one of the bolts but i cannot reach the one closest to the front of the car. Do i just start cutting it up untill i get to it or is there a lil trick? Also, i'm dropping in an LS motor and trans and have been told not to modify the shift linkage because it won't work very good. I've never heard of this but they told me to check Placeracing or Hasport and buy an already modified linkage for 150 bucks from either one of them. Anybody ever here of this? Now what exactly has to be modified?

If you don't want the box anymore then stick a crowbar in there and pry it out the plastic bracket (closest to the bumper)will brake and the box will pop out
