Default disconnecting VAFC for REF

Anyone know if I can disconnect the VAFC unit from the signal harness, rather than from the ECU, for a smog test. Will the car still start if the VAFC is disconnected from the signal harness?

Thanks.

why would you want to disconnnect it for a smog test? Seems like leaning things out and stuffing it in the glove box would be a better option.

I supose I could do that, I'd still have to disconnect and re run the wire. I just want to know if it would still work, so I could just disconnect it right before the test then connect it right after. Plus it is stuck onto my ash try, and i'd have to re stick it afterwards.

You have to jump the two MAP wires and the two VTEC wires with a small paper clip or something. Be carefull, you can bend the pins inside your connector very easily and then you'll need a new harness. Don't ask how I know....
