What shocks for straight out comfort?
I have Neuspeed sport springs, which have a pretty low spring rate(250f and 185r). What shocks would you recomend for a comfort/luxury only ride? I will never auto-X and I never street race. If you could list your primary and secondary choices that would be great. thanks
although the spring rates are not that much diffrent from stock, the drop is. i recomend getting some afterket shocks like koni reds (spring rates are not that drastic to use yellows), tokiko, or any aftermarket shocks for sale.

I heard the Tokico Blues and GR2's are on the same level. Does that mean the Blues are just as stiff?

If you want comfort you probably don't want a teg. Stock they aren't that great.

comfort and lowering springs do not go together... sorry but that's just the way it is. Of course comfort is a relative term, but if you mean big car soft ride or even stock Integra/Civic ride, it's just not gonna happen if you have lowering springs.
stock (everything) hah.
I'd say Bilstein SP but you'd have to replace your rear lca's.
KYB's or whatever...

I would say for value and ride the Tokico blues.
KYB's and illuminas are must more pricier and are a bit stiffer.

I am also doing the same set-up. Right now I just have the springs and the ride is ok but I need a camber kit and my stock shocks are dying. I never drove it with stock springs but I think it handles pretty good.
Like I told arizsun21, a camber kit wasn't needed as per the alignment shop, while rolling with 17's. but when I have my 14" hubs installed (for the heck of it and try to look like a wannabe JDM tuner) the shop recommended a camber kit or change my springs so it wont drop lower. I will be installing my stock 2000 GS-R rims and we'll see if the camber cannot be corrected by factory setting and if camber kit is needed.
as per the ride, I love it better than stock. I havent used any other aftermarket shocks so I cannot compare it. I know while riding stock shocks, when I hit the lil metal reflector that divides the lanes on the freeway, I hear this "THUD" and really hard bump. After installing the AGX, whoa, smooth like a motha
as always, you can change the settings to make it stiffer. hope this helps...

Get rid of the neuspeeds if you want comfort. Also the rear springs/shocks affect comfort moreso than the fronts... keep that in mind. Seems kind of pointless to drop a car for looks, but whatever floats your boat.

btw, are you on stock tires or low pro's? most low pro tires are very stiff. i bet getting soft tires will make the biggest difference. i had to ride on my stock alloys for a while and they were tremendously softer. they are yokohama avid 195/60/14. i missed the traction and handling so i went back to my falken 205/50/15's. so much stiffer and you can feel every bump but oh well
After reading this thread I decided to lower the stiffness on my AGX just to see what it was like. I normally run 3f, 4r on them and it is damn stiff, and turns quickly, doesn't understeer much, and hardly rolls. So for the first time I set the fronts to 1 today and the back to 2 (I like the back harder than the front to rid understeer) and it was pretty comfortable. I was surprised. It wasn't as fun as before but a lot less painful. This is on GC's with "I think" 350f, 280r rates.
i have a weird setup. i have AGXs in the front and tokico blues in the back. i would have to say go with AGXs because their adjustable. they also run for 400. tokicos blues are go but you might blow them because when i bought mine it said "recommended drop is 1.5 in max" i have a 1.75-2.0 since i coilovers i can't tell its still firm though. the price on some tokico blue are 250 at the shop i go to.
