Another 4th gen AV6 Brake Upgrade ?
I am just about to do the brake upgrade on my 90 accord. I ran search on finding how the dust/splash shield behind the rotor is held on and could not find it. I just want to see if I can make the AV6 shield fit onto my 4th gen without too many complications. How exactly does it go on? I know it is not neccessary but I would like to have it on there if I blow out a cv boot. I do not want to have grease on my rotor because obviously that would not make the car stop well.
My other question is should I also for piece of mind replace my master cylinder while I am doing a brake upgrade? Also do any of you think I will have worse braking since it will be more front biased now? I have a LX model with rear drum. I want to do that conversion someday, but not enough cash right now.
Any suggestions would help, I like seeing tech **** here, not all these ricey questions I have been seeing in the last few month. Thanks for your time.

ok, first off it won't be weird stopping, the rear only does about 30% stopping power anyways, so brake upgrade is good anywhere.
about the rear brakes, you have a 90, so that's 4th gen, you can get the rear disk brakes from a 92 or 93 ex and that fits right on there. while you are at it, switch out to SS braided lines nad you'll notice a nice difference there. someone on the board did the rear disk conversion and said they didn't really notice a difference except that the brakes didn't fade as much. it'll still look better though and that will give you a chance to use SS brake lines too.
junkyards have the rear disk setup on 92-93 ex's for cheap.

hmm...i'm no expert but here's what i think about the abs thing.
abs isn't in the caliper and stuff, it's a computer that hooks to the master cylinder (as far as i know) that runs the abs like that, releasing pressure and stuff. if i'm wrong then it hooks to the caliper, but it'll have wire connections somewhere to hook to the computer. either way, fi you don't have that hooked up it should act as normal brakes. It'd just be like pulling the fuse on your car with abs, which is what i do becuase i don't like it. i did it on my jeep and my mom's jeep. works fine, just no abs. i woudln't worry.

cool, thanks for the replies! I should be doing the swap soon, I hope to notice a little bit of a difference. I figured why not do the upgrade since I have to do new rotors anyway? It will just cost a little more, so screw it, it is being done. Now for the rear set up? I would do this just to gain the looks of rear disc and the factory swaybar (damn lx model)
