Need some help with a few issues! (92 Accord Wheel bearings, antenna among them)
Hi everyone,
I don't visit here often, but now I'm at the point where I have to get some work done on the Accord.
1. I need to replace the power antenna. I did a search, but no one actually has ever written up a detailed how to on this. I need pics!
Do I just release the body of it from the inside, and the whole thing comes out along with the rubber base? Or do I have to take it out through the top part somehow?? The dealer quoted me $68 Cdn for just the mast assembly and a new cable, apparently I don't need a new motor since it still works, partially anyways.
2. I have a front end vibration, which I *think* is partially a rim and partially a wheel bearing. My question is this: Where can I get cheaper wheel bearings? I have the stupid kind that are pressed into the rotor.
The dealer wants $148 PER bearing!!!!
How hard are they to install? I'm going to guess they are a PITA.
3. My car pulls to the left. I think this is my fault as when I was leaving work, the driveway is a slight incline and I took it too fast I think while turning right. Ever since, the car pulls to the left. I had the front inspected, they said the front end looks okay, just needs an alignment. Could I have bent something slightly? Or just thrown out the alignment? I had the front tires cross rotated. Stock suspension.
Thanks for any help!

For the antenna, just buy the replacement mast. Unscrew the top nut(exterior) on hte antenna assembly. Then turn on the stereo and pull out the old mast. You may have to try a couple times to get it out. Put the new mast assembly in, and have someone else shut the stereo off, when you hear the motor turning, push the plastic cable in gently until you feel the motor grab it and pull it in. Again, you might have to do this a couple times until it's al the way in. Then put the nut back on. It's pretty easy.
Cool, but how do I unscrew the antenna? Is there anything you can recommend that I should use? Vise grips? Plain old pliers?
