Default Could I gain anything by changing Bazooka Tube Speaker?

I have an amplified Bazooka Tube EL8A (8 inch) and was wondering if I could get better sounding bass by changing out the current speaker for something of a better quality like a Rockford Fosgate or Kicker? Don't know too much about audio so any advice would help. I don't really have any more $$$ to upgrade to something esle right now.

One of my firends put a JL w3 8 inch into one of those bazooka tubes because he blew the original speaker. he said it made a little bit of difference, but if you are going for a major gain don't do it

Each sub sounds best in a certain type of enclosure with a certain amount of airspace. Some may sound better, and some may sound worse than the sub that is in there. Buy one that will let you return it in 30 days, like Circuit City, that way if it doesn't sound good you can return it.
