Default Do Valves really increase flow? ferrea (20º Super Flo or 22º Flo) what is the difference....

Trying to learn about valves and how it affects flow reading for heads... I know the port work and seat angles will help but how does racing valves help that... can their be a difference in using them... mostly in N/A motor, I'd think all the flow in the world helps ... so what would be the best one, or which other company....

are Stainless Steel valves worth it, or stock ones are just as good... any problems with "Ferrea" or "crower" or "skunk2"

please comment and also explain....

Not an expert on the subject, but anytime you remove material from a path that air travels it ill change the flow caracteristics. Racing valves have material removed to increase the volume of air. The more material you remove the more volume of air that can pass, but intern the slower the charge is. I know that they also have different swirl patterns to help flow also. I beleive that the material used only has to do with strength.

The different types of material are used mostly for lightweight and heat resistance properties. You don't want the valves to heat up a lot and keep the heat in, you want it to blow out the exhaust.

Its like trying to get aluminum foil in your engine, aluminum foil doesn't get hot in the oven ever notice that?

the valve angle is what works miracles, however not everythign is free, the more angles on the job the more weakness from abuse ... the trick is in the seat as well as the porting of the head.
