Here is the situation
87 crx -- The engine is actually a 86 1.5 crx motor
140,000 miles
New tires
body has small surface rust around rear wheels.
Oil leak it lost 2 quarts by just setting for 2 weeks and being drove short distance once or twice.
Also a gas leak some where
rough paint job
5spd manual
idles at 3000 for 5 minuetes once it warms up it stays around 1000
Needs new alternator
does not smoke reall bad which is the weird thing
Paid $800 bucks for it so my question is should i get it rebuilt get a new engine put in or just junk the whole car?

That is just about what I was going to say...
If you have some sort of attachment to this car (like I do to mine ), be my guest to fix it up. If you love it, it will love you. Otherwise, you can probably get something better and it would end up being more cost effective.

Feel free to give the car to me, though. I'd like to have something to just play with.

 

nah lemme have the chassis, thats all i want, i wanna try my luck at swaping a 4wd drivetrain into a crx, which is completely plausible, the length of the cars is only a 200 mm difference which can be made up with engine placement...woot give it to me
