H&R Springs = Sag?????
I was talking with some civic owners and they were telling me that they had prior experiences with H&R which "sagged" after a few thousand miles. I was planning to get a set for my sisters 01 GSR and another set for my friends 01 ITR. This has delayed my thoughts on the matter and would rather know what you ITR owners think of the product.
Actually, it isn't a lie.
The H&R springs I had with the Bilstein struts, (installed at the same time) really left a lot to be desired.
I figure that they were no longer working properly after about 3-4 months, and had dropped the car an additional 15-20 mm. How do I know this? My rear wheels started to rub on my rear control arms... had the Bilsteins checked, and they were ok... so it got to the point where I had to install rubber spacers whilst I waited for the Buddy Club setup I have now.
I, for one, would not recommend then to anyone.

In response to that...
Yes, I am sure people can have them on their cars for 50k without any problems...
But I bought the car to drive, I have built it to perform, and it is driven, as it was designed to do out of the factory.
This product is NOT comparable to the factory springs, period.
If they are going on a gsr, you might want to consider using stock TypeR springs... I put these on my gurlfriends GS and it lowered the car about 15mm and the rates were compatible with the factory shock valving, and thus worked very well.

They look good, but the ride on mine was o.k. for the first year and a half, then started to get too stiff.....I figured it was the stock shocks finally letting go with the increase in spring rate...was going to get a coilover set in the spring...but don't have to anymore....
I wouldn't get them for long term use...got mine really cheap so it was a good band aid fix till I could afford some good coil overs.

thats pretty much a lie, unless they are using stock shocks, in which case they are probably blown and then they would be sagging.
shocks dont have much to do with ride height, IE worn out shocks would not be lower....
thanks for the info. i stand corrected. but it just made sense, seeing as how maybe they couldn't support anymore that they would "give" a little. i guess my common sense does not apply. learn something new everyday
but i am standing firm in that h&r's will not sag, that is just rumor.

I can only relate my experience, and that is that I've had them on my ITR for over 25K miles on the stock shocks, and have not encountered any problems to date, i.e. no rubbing or noticable sagging issues.
This is with the stock wheels and tires, 17x7 on 205x40x17, and my current 16x7 on 215x45x16.
Street driving only, no track events.

To those who have had bad experiences with these springs, can you explain the problem, when it occured, and all the little extras?
I was just discussing this the other day at our shop.
I have the H&R 29502 (or whatever they are) specific springs for my 98 R..
and I've got the ITR koni yellows along with it.
I could have sworn after looking at my car on a level parking lot the other day that they seem slightly lower in the front than they were a few months ago. Maybe I'm loosing my mind w/ my 16" winter wheels + tires mounted on the car. I'll re-check it and compare to other picture w/ my 15" + race rubber when it warms up.
Otherwise.. never had a problem w/ the actual product...
Just installed H&R Sports on my ITR. The car looks great (brought me to less then an inch gap in between the fender/tire. The ride quality seems a bit more harsh (nothing outrageous), and the handling seems to be the same==>better. Maybe it is psychological, but the steering response feels improved.

I'm very disappointed with the H&R's on my R. The drivers rear sags about 10mm, the fronts are ok but my right rear is a sagging slob. I really dont care anyway, Mugen lowdowns go in soon... so the H&R's will be up on ebay fror dirt cheapo
