Default Need help quick, is it my master cylinder?

Lately in my near stock LS, ive been noticing when i first start the car, the clutch engages like RIGHT at the floor, and there like no resisitance in the pedal until im almost all the way down. but then after driving for 5-10 minutes it would be back to normal. i had the slave cylinder replaced about 7 months ago. so today i wake up and my car wont go into gear at all. check the resevoir, and there is close to nothing in it. under the gas pedal there a big patch of the carpet that it very damp, im guessing fluid? can someone assure me this is my master cylinder, and if so, is there anywhere i can find a tutorial how tochange it? thanks guys

You should replace the slave cylinder along with the master cylinder -- they're a coupled paid. But, yeah, that does sound like the problem. I've done more slave/master cylinders than I can recount.

It's quite easy. Post up Q's if you have any.

good luck.

Check for leaks on the INSIDE of the firewall where the MC goes through, down by the clutch pedal. If you find brake fluid, REAPLACE that MC !
Also, if/when you change the MC, remove the resevoir - makes it easier to get the MC off. Oh, and be sure you have plenty of brake fluid and bleed the system well.

I paid $65 for a remanufactured Nissin clutch MC from THoff. The prices ranges up to $125+ at the Acura Dealership.
Oh, and the popping and clicking sounds that I had before went away when I put in the new MC.

i posted about this tokico clutch MC on nopi a few weeks ago asking what people thought about it. the thing that confused me a little bit is that the tokico MC looks a little different than the honda one. the main difference being that the reservoir on the tokico one is mounted on the MC instead of mounting to the car and having a tube running between them.

anyone else have an opinion about this tokico model?
