Blew up motor with Stage 3 skunk cams!!! F***!!!!!!!!!!!
Dont always blame the product. It tends to give good products a bad name. Think about what may have happened before it blew up. When you installed the cams did you check the clearances? What pistons do you have? Did you run a Skunk spring kit like its required? Was there to much belt tension? Cam gears timed properly and degree marks not to an extreme settings? Im kinda gettin tired of people blaming parts other then realizing(may not be in this case) that most of the time it comes down to user error. Parts usually just dont randomly fail causing damage that you have described. Something to that extreme comes down to a valve smacking a piston which doesnt happen unless things werent done properly. Rember that what you say, even on a message board effects a companies reputation. Maybe the title should say "I messed up somewhere, can somebody help?"

i talked to steve at skunk2 about the stage 3's and he stressed that piston to valve clearence MUST be checked w/ stage 3's. he also stressed making sure that the valve spring's werent binging.......so if u didnt check ur piston to valve clearence............well i think u got the idea
HAHA!! well can't blame you guys with assuming I dont know anything! well no they were not stock pistons( What ghetto **** does that?!) I checked everything and yes valeve to pisotn clearences were checked! oh and I never did say " SATGE 3 Cams blew up my motor!" I never blamed the product! but oh well I was just letting you people know I blew up my motor.. not really a big deal! just thought I would share this stuff with you guys but everyone here seems to think there better then everyone else. To the guys that gave me your comments thanks and well happy tuning!
You made it sound like you were blaming the cams. You didn't say I blew up my motor with xxx piston or xxx valve spring. I don't think you checked your motor any better than you did your spelling.
I did not blame you, or fault your engine building. I would just like to know a little more about what happened. Why did the engine blow? What broke? If you share, perhaps we could all learn a little.
