Default Picking the right Tires

Hey Peeps, been a while for me hanging our in the forums...I am too busy shoveling out my car...dang weather.

I need some help from the pros. I have been doing alot of planning for set of rims & tires. I have found the rims ADR-DV8s, but now I need to look for tires. [IMG][/IMG] I asked for some quoting on packages with Kumho's & Yokohama's, $995 & $1377 respectively. One salesmen told me that Kumho's are ****....

I honestly don't know...can I get some feedback from the forum as to which brand to go with. I don't do any track racing, I just like a nice ride with nice wheels nothing big. I have a budget to stay with so keep this is mind.

Thanks Guys/Ladys
'Nuff said, Im out, Peace

i've been runnin on some yok avid tourings for bout a year now, and after 20k+ they're still grippin great for all types of weather. they give a comfortable ride, you'll might end up gettin a different opinion of them assuming you're gonna get low profile with your new rims, but still, even though i don't have that luxury, i'll still swear by em. they're quiet around turns and through hard acceleration, but it's not as if you're unaware of when they're breakin loose. i have no opinion of kumho, but i don't think you'd go wrong yok's.

unless you know the salesman well, i doubt kumho's are ****, he's prob tryin to squeeze some more money out of you.

Yeah, I have been to this site. It's great! I alot about wheels from this place.
I would get tires from here, but I want a package deal so the wheels can be balanced. I have speaking with people at Whalen.tire.com. Its a great site as well, I actually think it's better. Well you gave me alot to consider....I think I will go to some tire shops and ask around.

KEEP THE INFO COMING GUYS...THIS IS THE BEST HONDA FORUM EVER!!!

for the usage youre going to put on your tires, kumhos should be more than enough. ive got 712s on my car and i like to corner and stuff, they work pretty well. my next set of tires well probably be the yoko parada spec 2s though.

what model of yokohama tires (and kumhos?). Tell him to give u a quote on Yokohama ES100's...

The Kumhos are crap might just be a sales line to get u to buy the "more expensive" yokohamas (as he so nicely priced the two at). At tirerack, ES100's are very similarly priced to kumhos, so keep that in mind. You are dealing with salesmen after all.

Im on kumho 712's, 30k of good tirelife and adaquete traction w/ 15% or so tirelife left. I dont drive hard, or do any track driving, so i can't tell you how they compare at the limits, but great everyday tires. I'm eyeing ES100's for my next set of tires.

Hey Type, thanks for the help!
Yeah I think this guy was trying to sell me. With the comments I am getting here and also research on the web WITHIN THE LAST 4 hours (great time) I have come to realize that Kumho's are really good. I found a forum site, http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.ph...=27915&t=27915, with a LONG thred of responses...It's pretty funny, I think everyone there drives CAVALIERS...lol....but hey what do I know, I got an Auto....buts its Japanese..heheh

Anyways I have come to a decision to go with Kumho 712s with my ADR-DV8s
I can't wait till the spring....I'm post my car pics like a pimp pushing his b*tches

PROPS TO EVERYONE ON THE FAST RESPONSES
