Blew my motor yesterday
I think its a rod in cylander #2 cause it runs but like chugs and the spark plug was covered in oil. prob not gonna build it til summer. i want to go fi and i wanna know what setup should i go if i want to boost like 12 pounds when its pushed. but i want it to be able to handle more. what compression should i get? and probably the block is going to have to be sleeved. what are the prices everyone has payed for there built motors. also when building it what else should i have replaced.
i suggest you buy a built 2.0 liter motor from import builders. comes sleeved, w/ forged pistons and rods. then you can get back on the road soon. i would say 9:5:1 compression is good...even 10:1 will be fine w/ solid tuning. if youre gonna rebuild it yourself, it will probably come out to around the same price as their block.
I didnt ask if i should go FI i asked about doing the crank. Motor needed to be rebuilt ne ways it ate a quart of oil every gas tank. so wasnt all my fault ne ways, Does ne one have pics of their blocks by Import builders.
go to their website...www.importbuilders.com. i should've bought one of their built blocks when i had the chance.
(price was cheaper back then too)
i dont know if they do core exchanges..u can ask them. but either way, u could always sell the block to someone who wants to do a rebuild.
