Depends on what it costs you? With your current set up, the only difference would be the port work and the valvesprings/retainers. If it's going to cost less to have portwork and valvetrain upgrades done, you might consider keeping what you have. As far as your track times, I couldn't say, EVERY car/driver is different.

If you really want to improve your times, ditch the tranny and get the JDM tranny w/ LSD!

P.S. How do you like that Skunk exhaust? How does it sound?

or you could save some money and slap that b16 head on an LS....well whatever floats your boat.

The LS tranny is what's throwing me off. W/ a B16 tranny, I 'd think you'd be able to eek out a 14.9 without much fanfare. Take acouple of tenths off w/ the ITR head.

This is all assuming you start w/ a healthy, 170 hp motor. All it takes is about 155whp to be a consistent 14.9 in a coupe.

even with boost you can still run a vtec(gsr, b16, type r) tranny unless you plan on some crazy *** boost that you will be finishing at some high trap speeds.... 125+ which would mean you would be going at least 135mph real speed. but yeah thats just what i know.

i have a friend with a 96+ hatch with a Rev hard T304E boosting 12lbs on a stock bore gsr motor with 9.0:1 comp ported head. Still runs a b16 tranny with quiafe LSD runs 11.71@120 and hes not complaining. he ran an LS tranny before and he didnt like it but to each his own i guess..........
