Default Just pulled off the water pump, now I have an oil pump question...

Wow! When I pulled the water pump off of the B16 it squealed like a ****! SO glad that i decided to replace it. Just goes to show... ALWAYS replace the water pump

Anyways, my question is this: How many of you have replaced the Oil pump on your B16's? I'm beginning to question whether or not it's shot, maybe I should just replace it. How hard is it? Roughy how much does a new one cost? Working space is not an issue, the motor is on my engine stand. TIA!

remove timing belt, drop the oil pan, unbolt the oil pickup and then unbolt the old oil pump. replace pump and all gaskets. factory torque specs are good too. If you did the water pump yourself you can do the oil pump.. its not that hard.

replacing the oil pump isn't too bad. i didn't replace mine when i rebuilt my ZC, but i did increase the flow some per TOO's instructions.

just make sure you prime the pump before you start the motor. vaseline works good.

You might as well get a new engine is the oil pump f0r 130 not mentioning another 70 for a water pump etc

better to ifx that engine and having running all good for a long time than buying a new engine and having it come with another bad oil pump...
