here's what we have so far, it doesn't say VTEC or Si on the back OR on the valve cover, and it doesn't say VTEC on the gauge cluster . . . but according to http://www.accordracing.com/vinnum.htm I have an Si engine. I did a search and the information I found seems to be conflicting, I've read that all Si engines are SOHC VTEC's. If my car has VTEC then there must be something wrong with it because I cant feel it kick in, and I'm sure I would feel it because I pay pretty close attention to my car when I'm driving.

Can I get a definitive answer from somebody who knows?

My GF's Del Slow is Sohc Vtec and no you cant feel it like in Dohc motors.

 

read the engine code on your block
then you will know

b16a3 (correct me if im wrong guys) is the Del Sol Si engine.

 

vtec selenoid=vtec engine

 

Yup, you're wrong DelSol Si has SOHC VTEC a.k.a D16Z6 motor. DelSol VTEC has DOHC VTEC a.k.a B16A3

 

what is your redline???

if you got a 8200 redline, you have dohc vtec

if you got a 7200 redline, you have sohc vtec

if you got a 6800? redline, you have a poop motor that needs vtec.. hope that helps

 

UM why dont you just OPEN THE HOOD?
if it says DOHC VTEC on it its a b16a3, the fast del slow.
if it dosent have a black valve cover that says DOHC VTEC on it, its an SI
