There might be a way to fix this.......I think one of the only US motors that came with a jspec starter was the 99-00 Civic Si. Either way, its a Mitsuba starter you want. I know people who ran this starter with JUN flywheel and haven't had any problems at all. But then again, there were some Integra R's and GSR that also never had problems with JUN flywheels or whatever brand. I'm running a J's Racing flywheel with the Mitsuba starter and have not had one problem at all.
FWIW, I run an Exedy flywheel on my USDM B16A, and I've had zero grindage issues. Setup has been on the car since Sept. 02.

maybe this has been discussed before, but I was not aware that JDM flywheels and USDM flywheels were different. what exactly is the difference?
Is the Mitsuba starter backwards compatible with USDM flywheel?
Meaning, if I ever plan on re-installing my OEM flywheel will it grind with the mitsuba starter?
