Default B20z into an ITR

I have asked this in the Hybrid forum but I would like some input from the guys with ITR's as well in this topic.

Does anyone see any reason why I should'nt change my JDM ITR block to a B20z one?
My car is a '97 JDM ITR with a B18c2 currently.
I have heard that with this block the peak revs is a lot lower (like 7500) the block can be sleeved to get a higher redline but will I be able to get to the 9000rpm type r red line again with this type of setup?
Anyone got any comments or suggestions about this conversion? Anyone tried this before?

I would keep the ITR engine. Its pointless to swap it out when you could just throw more money into the ITR engine

you have a better crank (revs higher), oil squirters, and won't have to pull
out your block.
just resleeve or if you really want to, go with the CR-V crank as well.
use your current engine.

Evol, i posted to your reply on another thread that was almost identical to this one. A LS crank is identical to a B20 crank. There is no reasoning in putting a B20 crank into an ITR block. To me upgrading an ITR block isn't worth the money if yours is functioning properly. However if you want to build the block on the side, get a B20 block (no need to resleeve for NA), add oil squirter, a Z10 girdle, and get some nice high compression 84MM pistons and your set. You can rev to 9K, however on any motor it will eventually wear out. I will however last a long time if you don't redline the motor every time you drive down the street.
