all i need is just a bare B20 block and main caps. i am upgrading my LS/VTEC to a B20/VTEC for this year. if anyone can help me out, please, let me know, i don't want to spend more than about $100, or i am willing to make a trade... i ahve a few parts around i would trade, but really just looking for a B20 block

not really, a buddy of mine picked up an LS block, mains, and crank for like $50 one time, everything was good on it too, so i figure, a B20 longblock goes for ~$700. well, since i don't want rods, crank, pistons, head, water pump, oil pump, rear main seal or any of that, then i figure $100 is a fair price, but i would be willing to give a little more

 

but most cheap LS blocks are like 12 years old

You do relize that it cost just over $1000 to get a B20 long block, and most poeple don't use anything except the block, crank, and main caps anyways...good luck cause its not going to happen.

yeah, i know, but i don't see why people are so outrageous on them, they want like $500+ for a block alone.... shiet for that much i might as well call HMO and buy a whole longblock for $750

I bought mine from there. The total after shipping was $1046. People buy the motor for the block alone. Not for the AWSOME head and internals it comes with.

Price of interals:
B20 pistons with rods: $50-$75
B20 head: $100-$150
B20 crank: $100-$200 (seen cheeper then that too)

As you can tell the internals and the head are worth NOTHING. The price is for the block (which isint that great either).

Do as your friend did and buy some pos b18b with cracked sleeves, then send it to GEM.

 

here is the problem, ECHC rules state that a block cannot be overbored past factory specs, which means, if i want an 84mm bore, i HAVE to have a b20..... i alreadt have an LS/VTEC in my Integra, i just want to upgrade to a B20/VTEC

 

Okay then, you send your LS block to GEM, we (you and me) split the price of getting it sleeved, then I give you my B20B?

 

but see... then i STILL end up paying like $400 or more ...... i would be willing to sell my LS block and mains once i can get my hands on a B20, but not until then... damn, i need a new hobby

 

did i mention that the sleeves can be cracked.... that doesn't matter, i can have a B20 re-sleeved back to 84mm, i just can't take a B18 to 84mm
