HELP - Alarm is dead, what's next?
I think my alarm just died today.
- The remote still works, on the power door lock.
- The light stays on, when the engine is off.
- Does not make any sound at all.
- Able to start car even with alarm on.
I got a Viper 550 alarm with ignition disabler, 4 years old on a 97 Civic.
My question is: Is alarm fixable? Or do I have to get a new one? I need to know the baiscs so when I take it in, they don't try to sell me a new one when I may not need one.
Thanks

It sounds like you accidentally put the alarm in valet mode. You can take it out of valet by pressing button I for one second and then button II for one second and then press button I again for a second (I>II>I). The procedure should be in your manual. You can download the manual from DEI's website too just in case you lost it. Good luck!
