Should my cousin Trade his 1988 CRX SI for a 1991 Accord EX coupe
Some dude offered him a straight up trade for a 91 Accord EX coupe. It's a 5-speed, "champagne" color and has like 160k miles. The CRX is in bad need of a paint job but the body is straight. Interior is crap and has like 180k miles. He got the rex for 600 $ 1 year ago. I want to tell him not to trade it, what do you guys think?
I'm betting if you ask this in the Civic forum your results will generally be the inverse of these.
The CRX was't even for sale. The guy with the Accord just offered the trade out of the blue. I don't think he'd sell it. We're in Phoenix BTW.

technically, the CRX's are holding their value alittle better than the 4-gen accords cause so many ppl drag them. At least that's how it is in LA...try and find a straight CRX-si for cheap is difficult cause they sold many fewer than 4-gen accords. Although that guy would be better off finding a cherry 88 DX (lighter).
sell the crx to me....those things are sweet.
B swaps are easy in those cars, insurance is cheap, they are light, and they have many aftermarket parts for them. i was thinking of finding one myself to fix up.

Thanks for your input. He traded, maybe he'll regret it down the road. I was against the trade all along but I didn't say anything to him cause it's his car. The truth is, I was hoping I'd get a deal on the CRX.
Keep the CRX...
Less problems and a better engine.
Don't get me wrong I own a 90LX and a 95LX

accords are built to last for a long time, never had any problems with F series. i guess if he wanted more comfort and daily driver the accord is the way to go.
The CRX is a more economical car for making swaps/seriously going fast. its short wheel base is probably the only negative thing about it. I WANT ONE.... they are the best for city driving because you dont even need a lane-they fit anywhere. it all depends what you want to use your car for.
