Glove Box Light
Kind of trivial, but this is my second 94 Accord and the damn glove box light stays on all the time when it is shut. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if there is a quick fix. I have tried to mess with it but it always winds up coming back on.
all I did was readjust the switch and it solved the problem for me. I have left my done light on for 12 hours before and the car started right up.
LMAO. This is funny. I've had that problem on just about all of my Accords. On my 90, 94 and my 87. I never got around to fixing it. I thought this light only turned on when your headlights were on...like the vanity mirror lights.
Mine does the same, but shuts off if I slam and push the box hard enough shut. Mine only started being on all the time when I took my glovebox off and mis-aligned the switch so it's slighty off. My car has been starting fine and all that, so I don't think it always stays on. But yea, the light Only comes on when the parking lights or headlights are on all the way. Shouldn't a huge problem unless you notice a big power draw. Good luck.
Was there any kind of recall maybe on the accords glovebox cause mine does it too. I have realized that it is a big problem actually...my friends car is a 94 ex I think and it does the same thing...and well mine does it also and its a 90 lx coupe...oh well I don't think it will drain the battery any. Right?

open glove box,
examine size of the hump that is supposed to push up and turn light off
cut out a piece of thich double or single sided tape
stick tape over hump
done. (if prob persists tighten the two screws on the glove box handle and or use
two pieces of tape on end.)

damn the man, both my accords have done this. had to take em apart at readjust some stuff and try not to break that arm on the shock to make the glove box open smooth.
i got that problem too. they stole my airbags a long time ago and just ripped the whole glove box out, ever since then the light never went out. i dont ever use the light so i just disconnected the bulb.
HOLY S*IT!!!
Eveyone has this problem that has 94 Cords
My best friend has one and it bugs the s*it out of me when we drive around. My friend doesn't care for it but it nags me.
I promissed him I would fix it and I have...listen EVERYONE...easy fix
Okay the reason why the light is one is cause the bumber is not pushed in all the way...those who have understand.
When you look/feel the rod there is a plastic cover on it...(you can take it off the rod and on...kinda like a condom heheheh)
anyways all you need to do is where the point this rod meet with the door is to add several layers of tape
by doing so you create a raised level on the glove box door that when you close it....that extra 1/8,3/8, or whatever will give it extra push when you clsoe the box.
