Default is 16:1 AFR too high?

it sounds like a dumb question, but after installing my techedge v1.5 kit, i've been observing ratios around 15-16:1 when cruising (very light throttle). when i get on the throttle it drops down to 13-14:1 which i assume is normal. i am concerned because the v1.5 is hooked up to my ecu to feedback the o2 signal (so that i could eliminate the stock sensor) which means if its innaccurate it can mean troubles. just some background info, the car is not FI yet, it has the stock fueling system, basically its a b16 with i&e. please let me know if i am harming my car like this or if it is part of honda's fuel efficiency tricks to lean it out when cruising.

thankyou!

you need a wideband o2 sensor to get accurate air fuel ratios.
