Ok, so I got my license plates today, tore off my temp tags, and I am completely dumbfounded as to how you get license plates on the front of the R. I went out and bought both kinds of mounting kits Pep Boys had, and none of the screws are big enough. I assume you don't want to just screw it in to the front bumper... But how in the hell... It's getting dark and I'm getting frustrated, anyone have any tips?

Edit: I'm going out in about an hour and with my current track record of getting pulled over all the damn time I'd say there's about a 70% chance I'd get a ticket for driving without one tonight.

Get the "Y" bracket from Acura it makes life easy.

 

Check the spare tire well. Might be a mounting kit in there

 

OH, I don't know if I would admit that you can't install a front plate J/K

There are two little bumper plugs on the front bumper, Remove them and there are threaded inserts ready to put lic. plate scews in place.

There's a mounting bracket that gets screwed in on the front air dam/grill/whatever you want to call it. Maybe you are missing this mounting bracket???

 

Get a Helms

 

I have the mounting bracket, I'm talking about getting the screws IN to the front bumper.

take off the caps over the screw holes

 

there are two holes for 10mm bolts in the front bumper.
if you cant see them..... get some glassses

I got a warning and two tickets in my CRX with no front license plate... My front bumper was fucked up and it wouild NOT hold the plate, so I eventually just ended up zip tieing it around the whole thing....

THe car been wrecked beforre? THe bumpers don't come with those inserts they have to be bought seperate on replacement bumpers.

Put a ziptie through the holes and ziptie your license plate on.

Zipties are lighter than bolts.

Anyhoo, ioburn - You may not be able to get the plugs to fit if you are missing the 'insides' where the bolts screw in. Not sure....

The Y bracket will work without the inserts BTW. BUt you can't put the factor plugs into the bumper holes without the inserts either

then you'll need to buy the 2 clips for the bumper for the screws to feed through. and you'll need to remove the bumper to put those pieces on.

 

Just use the Y bracket mentioned above. It doesn't use the holes shown.

 

Looks like it's time for an engine wash. Seems pretty dusty under the hood.
