Default Expo 3 *CAMPERS* - Read this now.

We have been informed that camping at the track = $300/day minimum. Therefore, at $10/person we need 30 people minimum. Can we get that? If not, we'll need a hotel

wtf?

The beaver is not looking good at this time...

I guess the camper will be sitting on the road outside of the track or at the hotel.

i'll probably be at a hotel, but this seems weird to charge for the camping on top of everything else.. maybe i'm just not thinking about it in the proper light though..

regardless, if we somehow come up in the black money wise after everyone's paid up, couldn't we just some of that..?

lol some of you are forgetting that we PAID to camp last year too.

I agree the minimum is BS, but paying to camp on-site in normal except for 12/24 hour races in my experience.

$10/night = $20 (fri/sat) (hell might only have to do it on sat, must think about that) vs $160/4 = $40+tax for the hotel.. hotel is nice though.. but must drive after drinking, etc.

I'll do either, but camping is nice. We do have at least 2 6 person tents, I might get another as well... so at that rate 15 people in we todd tents (6 each is possible, but ugh) 2 in will's camper.. others should have some tents..

Summary: Camping is still possible, but has a minimum

I'll try to see if Trey can find out why there is a minimum.. my guess is that you are paying not so much for sleeping on the grass but for the facilities.. showers (need to ensure they have them built otherwise camping would be out pretty much), electricity, etc.

You aren't paying to get in. You paid to be fed Sat night.

$300 pays for a security guard that can allow people to come and go.

It is $300/day x 3 Days

$900 for a few people to camp instead of $900 on raffle prizes?

Most will be paying $80/night to stay at the hotel so $300/day between 30 people should be pretty easy to get together.

Trey

yup... $10 night.
but they locked us in so that we could not leave.

Hotel floor/Parking lot/Walmart lot/KOA lots/state park... it does not matter... it will still be fun.

YOu'd think we didn't have insurance or something.

Sleeping arrangements are not included in the price for anyone. Rules are rules and they have a $300 minimum TO COVER A MANDATORY SECURITY GUARD.

Security gurad being there allows you to come and go. And he isn't optional for those that are about to ask.

I like the idea of having him Saturday night to watch the R's that people want to leave at the track.

30 campers = = $10 each...

I would even pay $15 a night just to be able to camp.

that is if they have hot water in the showers.

God damn you'd think by these responses that I posted this 2 days before the event or something.. chill people..

I see a few misconceptions.. or at least what I view as misconceptions..

1. The money goes to the track/security guard, NOT Trey/myself/etc.
2. It doesn't matter if you are a driver, guest, or a guest buying a banquet ticket, this is a fee for camping at the track imposed by the track.
3. If Trey paid for it with expo entry funds, he'd have to pay for hotel rooms as well. And that's even assuming it's in the black.
4. This isn't "added on". I don't know what you expect, but generally speaking you do have to pay for goods/services. You don't get free parts from acura just because you bought their car (well unless they are defective).

Summary: We *knew* we had to pay to camp, but if we don't have 30 people, then we can't camp. That's the purpose of this thread.

well technically this isn't true..

it's just $300 I believe.

so if we have 20 people that's $15 each per night, which I'm fine with.. I guess if you are willing to camp, reply and post which nights you want to camp out and how mcuh you're willing to pay. If you aren't willing to pay at LEAST $10, get a hotel for $80 because we will NOT get over 30 people to camp.
