Car got hit-AGAIN
Ok, for the second time this year my car got hit on the street (hit-and-run, that is). Last time I needed body work but this time it looks like I just need a new mirror and some way to get the paint of the car that hit me off of my paint. Can anyone recommend a rubbing compound that would work well for this? I have to imagine I will need a heavy duty one to get off paint. It doesn't come off when I rub it, it only comes off with a fingernail's pressure. Hopefully the paint is okay underneath *crosses fingers* since I just got it painted this summer.
Try scrubbing the other car's paint off with some SOS pads. That'll take it off in no time. IM JUST KIDDING!! DO NOT USE SOS PADS. I used to work in a body shop but I've never heard of anything that will take paint off without damaging another layer. The best you could do is use automotive paint thinner, but other than that, you might be picking with your fingernail for awhile.
Man I feel for you. I was backed into once in a parking lot at the autoclub that I was apart of. No one saw it or heard it?? And then about 3 months later I was backed into by my sisters neighbor as they were backing out of the driveway!! the First hit took out my headlight, corner light, my hood and my fender all on the drivers side the second time the guy took out my corner light and my fender on the passenger side!!!
Where is the paint? As for getting it off you could try very fine sand paper and wet sand it off?? Otehrwise you can try things like bug and tar remover. or you could even try buffing it off. Also if its not too bad you may be able to use a cleaner wax of some sort. But I would say either wet sanding or buffing it off are your 2 best choices depending on how bad it is and where it is??

my friend's car got spray painted, so he just used some adhesive remover and a rag, but he was able to do that within a few hours of it happening. then he buffed the remainder out, looked fine afterward.
Sorry to hear dude. My car was hit and run last year, I still haven't fixed it. You can try Turtle Wax's Bug and Tar remover. I guess it's a really light polish. I sprayed my molding, and got some overspray on the car. I didn't realize it for a week and the Turtle Wax still got it off without damaging the paint.
i know i hate hit and runs too this happened to me 2 weeks after i got my whole front clip redone from an accident

try muguires scratch x, that **** is awsome and will buff most things out pretty easy, if not get it professionally done
