Im gonna go ahead and paint mine, theyre faded and turning a brown color, so im gonna give it a fresh shade of flat black (i actually like the black )

 

just mask em off. Be easier. I painted the moldings on my girlfriend's car in about an 1/2 hour. If you're in doubt about masking closely, overlap the tap on the molding, and use a razor and slice it in the seam.

 

honestly, just buy some new ones. I know they are rather expensive, but will look beter, and keep you from having to repaint them after weathering.

 

They're held with clips along with a little double sided tape. The door mouldings also have a nut holding one side.
