Which one would be a better basis for a Race Car, EG or EK?
i'd have to say the eg. the eg hatches were lighter than ek's but you lose those everyday comforts that can be found in the ek's.
5 gen hatch all the way... Lighter, more abundant in the junkyards, more parts for them usually, cheaper...BETTER LOOKING woohooo

Don' t be like everyone else, and get an EG!! LOL... Wink wink!! I agree with the other guys!! Get an Eg!! I got rid of my 99 coupe for my eg, and I won't go back!!
I Love it!!

EG's are the funk.
Light, cheap parts, smoother and racier lines, it's just a great chassis to build a race or street car from..

yup gonna have to say the eg. i mean this is the eg forum and all so we do probably lean that was a little but the eg is smaller lighter and it no problem to drop a b16 or b18 into. unless u want a full on drag car i would go with the eg. i just want an ek cause i plan on doing an h22 dragger in the future.
As far as racing and dragging, the EG wrighs less, which is why you see more EG's dragging than EK's. But as far as I'm concerned, the EK looks a lot better. There's isnt that much of a weight difference, maybe 300lbs. But if you arent planning on dragging and you just want a car that is fast, I would personally go with the EK.
i have strong opinions about itr.... dont get one unless you have alot of money. get an eg and swap an itr drivetrain in, itll weigh 500lbs less than an itr w/ itr power... itll be fast. then with the 10k you have left over work on suspension and interior and then do engine work with whatever is left over, youre eg will perform alot better than an itr but youll have eg insurance rates and less prone to theft.[its still really prone to theft, but not as much as an itr]
those reasons are why im driving an eg[well, ej] over an itr.

Collectability-wise, the EG is the one to get. Right now they're already fetching 2-3 times "book value".
I own an EK and I would say EG are better race cars. Tom did a big *** post on this also. They are lighter, and way more compatable with all other hondas out there. EG would be a good choice

more comfortable?? I've had both as well.. as far as comfort level they are the same.. I admit the eks do have more head room.. unless ur 7 feet tall its not a prblem.. EG all the way
300lbs?!? Try more like 50-70lbs difference given equivalent trim levels (ie. EG DX vs. EK DX). The EK more than makes up for the weight difference with longer rear LCA's (better stability at speed through corners, esp on less than perfect road surfaces), a more robust front subframe assembly. On an EG and DC2, you almost NEED a lower front tie bar. EK has a longer wheelbase, but this may not help you for AutoX. For drag racing though, a longer wheelbase helps.

Ek's 0wn j00, ok??
And Ek's are not that much heavier, contrary to popular belief.

how about a tweaked sir 2? is it any better than a tweaked eg6?
and btw, how much does sir2 cost? i never seen any around melb, closes i saw was a gold badged eg6 coupe with VTEC DOHC printed on the sides....had no sunroof, my bro and my cus siad waznt one..
also my cuz is having probs with his eg6 (no raw tuning just exterior)
he says his eg6 is drinking fuel sif it was drinking water....he says he daily on average shift gears at about 4500 (mostly 5000) and it keeps sucking in the gas....
hes got carbonfiber bonnet, painted his hatchback rear wing and has black mags...looks alright.....
is EG really worth it after all?
