Do I need a optima battery? If so which color? Red or Yellow?
Here's the set up:
Focal 165k2 Component
Focal 135k Component
2-Kicker Solobaric S12L7
Kicker 1200.1 amp
Kicker 600.4 amp
1-Lightning Capcitor 1 fared
Not installed yet
just rounding my stuff up and waiting for the Kenwood headunit to come out! The new KVT version.
What is the difference between the red and yellow?
I'll look on the net now
but just thought I'll get people's opinion.
If some of you audio pros will advise me, I would appreciate it.

1. Red = Standard SLI battery that is never allowed to fall below 60% of the depletion region . . .
2. Yellow = Deep Cycle AGM battery, which is designed to accept & endure long periods of depletion of the primary cells without ill effects (300 cylces) . . .
If this battery is to be abused with short trips, long durations of none starts, and alot of off time listening . . .
You will want a Yellow Top AGM battery . . . They are also the only battery Optima makes that is allowed to be air shipped . . . They are leak proof even upon rupture, and can be mounted in any angle . . .
If your needs are normal than the Red Top is a monster to have, but never allow it to be depleted on a on going bassis . . .
Yellow Top tops in at 43.10 lbs . . . If this is a race / tracked vehicle this will not help you to diet . . .

this is for my SUV! Don't think I'll be bringing it to the track anytime soon
Unless I have girls hanging off my ladder and roof rack

If you want long term reliability with no hassle with maintenance, and amazing recharging capbility, the Yellow Top is the one for you . . . Red Top is also a monster, and costs less . . .
Application and use, dictate what route to follow . . .

I know this doesn't help but I work at AZ in GA and would be willing to hook the 20% up on some optima batteries.
Blue, same as yellow with an extra pair of binding posts, makes it easier to hook things up :D
and I'm only running a dx-700 and zx-460 with a batcap(used to have a 1.5farad, but batcap has been much happier)
