I have a delema. Should I sell my 00' Si? It has 57k on it. Can't decide if I want to go through the trouble getting 92-95 hatchie/96-99 hatchie and do a swap. I don't know if I'll even get enough for my Si. Can someone help me decide?

Keep your Si and get a 1.8 or 2.0 block.

 

the new si's are like Nike Air Jordans, there the **** when they come out, till you figure out you spent a hell of a lot of money and you aint goin no faster, get the hatch and have the gratification of something you did from scratch, and do all the work yourself via a helms and peers

all i can say is i love my hatch and its really up to you

 

hatch will be faster but u give up a trunk, and a back seat (basically). Plus unless u get a 92-95 Si u will give up Sunroof, 4 wheel disc brakes, etc. so whatever u decide make sure its what u truley want.

 

u give up power windows and locks, factory sway bars, etc. i say sell it tho, and get a hatch, i have a coupe and getting tired of it, never had a hatch tho.

 

you only give up disks if you want to give up disks.

 

ive actually been asking myself the same question.... i know if i sold my 99 Si i could get enough money to buy a old hatch and swap it. then even have some money for suspension/wheels/engine mods.....i have always wanted to start from scratch and do the work myself (or as much as i could anyways). the only thing i have to consider is my situation of being 18 with school and other priorities... i know someday i will build a car. honda or not, but right now i need something reliable and fun to work on. and right now thats what ive got.

Maybe you should ask yurself what i had to ask myself.... do you have the time and money to be out a car for a while and/or loose the comfort of ur si?
